New Hartford Volunteer Ambulance Association, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible.
NHVA provides 24-hour a day emergency medical services to the towns of New Hartford, Barkhamsted, and West Hartland. Our volunteer and paid EMTs so that we can respond immediately should you or your family need help. Our First Responders, living in our community, are equipped with Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and full medical bags so that they can provide immediate care before the ambulance arrives. We operate three ambulances so that we can respond to more than one emergency at the same time. On average we respond to 800-1000 calls per year. All this costs money -- and we depend upon donations. Less than 20% of our budget is paid for by our towns. Because we are a volunteer service, we provide a substantial savings to our communities.
