The New Hartford Volunteer Ambulance Association was formed in 1968. NHVA provides pre-hospital emergency medical care to New Hartford, Barkhamsted and West Hartland. Through Mutual Aid agreements we also provide emergency medical services to our neighboring communities. NHVA Emergency Medical Services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to all those in need. We respond to an average of 800-1000 emergency calls each year. Currently, NHVA has over 100 volunteers serving as EMTs, Drivers, EMRs and Explorers.
When you need help you want it to arrive as quickly as possible. NHVA ambulance volunteers
Our members come from all walks of life and backgrounds. The diversity in our membership provides unique experiences and perspectives. But all of our members volunteer at the New Hartford Volunteer Ambulance because they want to help others in need. It is the tie that binds us all together.
NHVA members participate in running the ambulance. From our ranks come the officers responsible for planning and the day-to-day operations of the ambulance, as well as the committees responsible for unique activities. Officers serve for two-year terms. The unique experiences and professional backgrounds of our members enable a professionally run organization that has thrived since 1968.
